Our vision is that every student becomes a lifelong learner through the dynamic and inspirational educational environment created by the school community. Through our academics, service, and the faith, St. Benedict students will go on to make a positive change in the community and the world.

The School of St. Benedict is a Catholic Elementary School in which gospel truths, values and attitudes are primary to the work of education. St. Benedict's sees its service of education as contrubuting to the Church, the world and the communities of the Bronx, particularly Throggs Neck. We believe in the motto of St. Benedict: Ora et Labora; prayer and work.

Our philosophy and goals are to:

• Provide an experience of faith in action
• Create and maintain a spirit of respect, understanding and love
• Develop a sense of responsibility for one's actions and a maturing awareness of right and wrong
• Develop an educational program that is current and meets the needs and challenges of students
• Collaborate with parents so they will be supported in their efforts to nurture Christian values in their children
